To be seen in our Fullness
For a while now, My process with women has begun with their Fully Expressed Self.
We journal on our lost parts and our secret desires; we visualise our most juicy, free, alive Selves; and we create a brand and website thats an embodiment of Her frequency.
But I've come to realise that to be fully expressed, we must first cultivate safety in our bodies.
Because to be estranged from our bodies is to be estranged from the knowing in our gut. The wildness in our hips. The creative power in our pelvic bowl.
In a million different ways, the patriarchy has disconnected us from our bodies. We have learnt to override her, distrust her, shame her, exhaust her, deprive her, hide her.
We have learnt that is not safe to be seen in our fullness.
Feeling safe in our fullness as women is, oooof, a doozy. Its unravelling decades of conditioning, and generations of trauma.
But the repatterning also happens in those tiny, everyday moments.
It happens when we actually pee when we need to.
It happens when we moisturise the parts of our body we find hard to love with tenderness instead of scorn.
It happens when we pause, close our eyes, and ask our bodies, 'but what do you want, love? what do you need right now?"
Feeling safe in our bodies is crucial to us feeling expressed in our work & lives.
Over the last few months, I’ve been on a journey of dismantling my own internalised patriarchy - realising how I’ve been dancing with burnout for years now; recognising all the ways I’ve become disconnected from my body, and all the ways that has disconnected me from my fullest expression.
This journey led me back to my dance and therapy roots, and deeper into the world of nervous system care and feminine embodiment.
And so, when I created my Fully Expressed Program, I knew I needed a new first module - Home to Self. It is about creating space and slowness. It is about tending to the needs of our animal body. It is about soothing our nervous systems, looking at our internalised patriarchy, and reclaiming our fullness.
